24 years later.....

Ok...for this post to make sense I must set up the story just briefly. About 24 years ago, or when I was about four years old, my dad came to me and my sister and asked us what kind of jewelry box we wanted. He said he was going to make it for us and that we got to choose what we wanted on it. Jess and I both wanted a unicorn and so we waited....and waited. Well, time went on and the unicorn jewelry box never got made and actually became the family joke. We'd tease him saying that it should be pretty close to done, I mean it has been 12 years....15years......20 years. He'd laugh and say well I'll get to it as soon as..... And so the joke continued.......until TODAY! My family came in this weekend to hang out with Jackson and me and he said he had a gift for me. I had NO idea that it would be that famous unicorn box we talked about 24 years ago.

Isn't it amazing! He hand made the entire thing. He made the box, the insert for the jewelry and even sprayed on the texture for the compartments. He made the inside of the lid out of three different types of wood and he even hand carved the unicorn!!!! Wow...it did take 24 years but it was well worth it!

My First Easter

Hope everyone had a great Easter. The Kraus family did for sure! Here are a few pictures to prove the crazy Easter fun.

We had to dress our little boo in some ears and a cotton tail for his very first easter. Too cute!!!

Easter fun with Carson and Uncle Beep

We had to dress him in his Easter outfit which included a sweater vest. Stephanie and Darrell thanks so much for the cute outfit!

Jackson and Me

Ok....I had to make another post because on the advice of a good friend (THanks Brooke!) I got some pictures of me with Jackson. I am so busy taking pictures that I am never on the other side of the camera. She reminded me that I would regret not having any of me with him. Well, here are a few, and the family Easter pictures are in the works.

Bunny Ears and a Bad Cough

Well, be expecting more cute bunny pics in the near future in my Easter blog, but I had to put one up now. His daddy thinks he looks like a girl with those pink ears, but oh well he is precious. We had alot of fun taking pictures and Jackson did too. He didnt mind the ears at all which made the photo shoot much easier. Well, to my next topic, Jackson has some nasty upper respiratory virus and has been to the doc twice. He is on an antibiotic and breathing treatments to help break up some of the junk in his chest. Poor little guy is such a trooper though. He really is handling it like a champ, much better than his mom or dad handles being sick. We give him his oral meds and he downs those and then we place this super loud machine right by his face and put a mask over his nose and mouth and the kid never even wakes up. He is fine, his mom however is a wreck. Wow, people can tell you till they are blue in the face how hard it is to watch helplessly while your child struggles and you CAN NOT understand until you are a mom. I want to be able to take it away so bad, but feel very confident that the One who holds us all in his mighty hands is holding him as well. I know it is only a virus, my gosh its not anything really serious, but as a first time mom it feels HUGE. Well, if you would please pray that he starts to feel better. For baby and mom's sake.

Three Years and Counting....

Joey and I went to dallas for our three year anniversary this past weekend. Joey surprised me with an amazing weekend planned. Our stay at the Hyatt Regency was wonderful except for the minor fire on the 15th floor on friday. A short evacuation later we were back in. Joey also took me to a fun italian restaurant called Campisi's and we met my sister Jessica and my brother in law Jonathan. We then went to a Derek Webb concert in Deep Ellum. If you have never heard him he is an amazing singer/songwriter. It was probably my favorite concert I have been to. It was really laid back and so great! While we were doing all of this Jackson was having just as much fun with my parents in Dallas. This was his first road trip to the "big city". He met so many great people including my mom's good friend Virginia and good friends and neighbor's Darrel and Stephanie. We were nervous about the trip since the longest Jackson had been in a car before this trip was about ten minutes. I just have to say that he made it all three hours both there and back home and didn't cry one time. We were so impressed! Here are some pictures from our fabulous weekend.

Jackson was in his little Polo outfit and Joey popped the collar for added cuteness. Of course I had to take pictures.

Cutie Pie!

Ok, so this weekend my mom came into town and we took tons of pictures of the little guy. I think I am obsessed with my new camera! Well, there are entirely too many good ones to post here so i will give you a taste and then go to the link to the right that says Cutie Pie for all the fun pictures from this weekend.

Well, we started this new face just a few days ago. He started doing this when he is intently looking at something or trying to do something. He puckers his lips and drops his chin....adorable!

This is a preview of the photo shoot that my mom thought of.

Check out the rest of the pics at the link on the right.
