Final Round

Alrighty, I appreciate all of yalls help so much! I have tallied the votes and have the results of yalls voting. The top two from those five pictures were #1 and #4. The only problem is that now, I have three more that I would like for you to choose from. My mom came into town and started making this funny noise that Jackson thought was hilarious, so I ran and got my camera and got some good ones. Anywho, I promise this is the final round, but I want yall to vote again, now based on the two winners and these three new ones. Ok, here they are......

Hope For Solid Food At Last

I must update you on the cereal trials with baby jackson. Well, after our failed attempts we were a little discouraged and went into the weekend sure that our child was destined to take the bottle for life. Well, we left him in Longview with his Gran and Beasch, otherwise known as Fran and Flip, his grandparents, while we went to Dallas. We gave them the go ahead to try whatever they could to get him to eat the cereal. They did it! They got him to eat it. It was brilliant! They would spoon the cereal in and then immediately chase it with the bottle, even before he could know that it was in his mouth. They let him take his bottle for awhile and then bam throw in another spoonful of cereal. His face still showed how little he liked the cereal, but there was no fit and he took it all. What does this prove? Grandparents know so many tricks of the trade, and it really does take a village to raise a child. Thanks Fran and Flip for the great advice!!! Yeah for overcoming obstacles!
Of course I had to document the moment, so here it is.
Enjoy!

See here he doesn't know the cereal is coming

He's tasting it......

Yep, he hates it.

The Softball Field Meltdown

Oh what a lovely outing Jackson and I had wednesday! If you couldn't tell, that statement was dripping with sarcasm. We went to Joey's softball game because it was the early game at 6:30pm and Jackson had a meltdown. We started out ok, but a good twenty minutes in we had probably too much stimulation and not enough sleep which equaled a good crying fit. I tried to calm him down, but when that wouldn't work I tried to just duck out gracefully, but Jackson was having none of that. He cried all the way to the car, he screamed the whole way home (It felt like it took 3 hours), and once we were home he continued for a good hour. He finally wore himself out and fell asleep, bottom lip out and all. What a rough night. So, what have I learned from this. Well, I like to pick apart these little, I like to call them "episodes", to discover something useful, a gem if you will, to learn from. Here are the things I learned at the Softball fields,
#3 You can't reason with a 4 month old. Trust me I tried all the way home.
#2 Life throws you these "fun" moments to see if you crack under all the poor on-lookers stares
and....the #1 thing I have learned....
#1 No one at those fields will be calling anytime soon to babysit!
Enjoy the pictures. Thanks Amanda for documenting the mayhem!

Alrighty, I Need Yalls Help.

My mother came across a baby photo contest and being that I have about 3000 pictures I thought why not. It is a cutest baby contest, so while I have close to 3000 pictures I realized most of them are of him with some kind of crazy face. As much as I love his crazy expressions I found the ones of his precious smile for this contest. I have chosen my top five pictures and have decided I need the opinions of others to help in this. I would love for you guys to leave a comment telling me what your favorite two photos are. If you can't comment on the blog than email me nguild20@yahoo.com if you would like to have a vote. I am going to send in the photo with the most votes. Yeah for sweet babies! Yeah for people who care about your sweet baby! Thanks for the help!

Is that Bagger Vance?

Well...I did it! I finished the Dallas half marathon on sunday. I didn't train as much as I would have wanted, but I did better than I had thought I would. It really felt good to get back to some kind of normalcy with my crazy post pregnancy body. Joey and I went to Dallas for the weekend and hung out with my family. Jess and Jonathan ran the half with me. Let me rephrase, Jess and Jonathan started the half with me and then sprinted the 13 miles. They made it under 2 hours which was somewhere just under a 9 minute mile! They are animals! You know who else is an animal? Uncle Mark....Joey's uncle. He ran a 15 mile race saturday and then ran the half with me!!!! Unbelievable! He really was the reason I made it the last two miles. He helped push me...thanks a bunch Uncle Mark! Joey ran also. He ran the 5k with his cousin Chase and his girlfriend Jordan (Chase's girlfriend not Joey's...just in case you were wondering).

Alrighty...more pictures of the little guy. Is it Jackson or Bagger Vance? Who knows...all I know is he is precious!

These are a few pictures I threw in for fun.

Ok so I found this tie for like three dollars at Children's Place in Dallas and I immediately thought of a photo op.

Hope yall enjoyed!

Dress up and the Best Laugh ever!

So I have too much time on my hands now. I love dressing him up and taking pictures. I don't think it will ever get old.
I also have my absolute favorite sound captured on video, Jackson's laugh!!! His daddy was just too funny for him and he gave us all a great laugh. Check out the video at the bottom of the page. This parent thing is a blast!
