Christmas Countdown #8

We are heading to the end of this fabulous countdown with only two remaining. I know you are all sad, so to cheer you up, I would like to play you something. Now, for this item on the countdown, I got to go back to the movies, specifically, claymation movies. Now some seem to be scared of this specific type of genre, and I would have to agree, execept for Christmas movies. Christmas claymation made #8 on my christmas countdown. Claymation in and of itself can be a little scary, however when done with rudolph the lovable reindeer and frosty the snowman it is magic! Have fun watching a classic!

Christmas Countdown #7

And the christmas countdown continues. Christmas countdown #7 is decorating the christmas tree. One of my favorite trees is the one in Rockefeller center. The lighting of this famous tree is something that screams christmas. You know that the tradition began in the depression-era. Workers actually decorated a small fir tree with strands of cranberries and tin cans. Alot has changed, considering the tree is now typically around 100 ft tall, adorns 30,000 lights, with five miles of wiring, and is topped with a 550lb Swarovski crystal star. Are you liking this history lesson. Apart from entertaining, I like educating my readers on fun facts that you probably never need to know.

If you haven't, go put up your tree. It will put you in the christmas spirit. We put it up last week and we played christmas music and turned on a christmas movie. So much fun!!!!!!!

Christmas Countdown #5

Ok, so cold weather might not be some of your cup of tea. But, I have something that you will love. Now, this is a pretty specific thing and it might not be something that you would think would make a christmas list, but I think you will agree. For #5 on my christmas countdown I am going with.......The Hershey Kiss Commercial.

Watch more IFILM videos on AOL Video

What would Christmas be without this classic commercial. Recognizing one of the ads that make the holidays sappy and sweet is a must for today. This commercial is synonymous to the season and brings back childhood memories flooding back. So if you may,if just for a moment, join me in a sappy holiday memory.
So Hershey, keep it playin', cause we love those kisses and the sugary sweet memories too!

Christmas Countdown #4

So, for merry christmas countdown four, I am going with something that warms my heart, the........COLD WEATHER! Now, let me explain and see if those of you rolling your eyes right now, might not change your minds. Now, I live in Texas. And when you live in Texas you are wishing most days of the year, that it was cooler, because yall know it gets HOT! When the weather starts getting chilly don't you love bundling up in scarfs and hats and gloves? I love that! To me, cold weather just smells like christmas. I love what you can do in cold weather....

You can build snowmen!

Or try to make a couple extra bucks like this guy.

Look at them. Do you not just want to jump into that picture? Oh my gosh I love it!

You can go sledding.

<
The only bad thing is that most of these cold weather things I love require snow, which as you know doesn't come plentiful here, so I have to live vicariously through my yankee family. But, I can make a fire and drink hot chocolate and watch "White Christmas" and pretend. Let it snow...let it snow...let it snow!!!!

Christmas Countdown #3

So, since many of you fell off my Christmas train last time with Black Friday, I am sure you all will jump back onboard with this one. Another one of my favorite christmas things is the lights! I love lights. It just makes me happy seeing all of the houses decorated. So, get out there and light up your neighborhood with some Christmas cheer!
I thought this "Griswald inspired" home was appropriate for this post.

Christmas Countdown #2

So, I started this list of my favorite christmas things with the movie, Christmas Vacation, because seriously it is hilarious! It is pretty safe to say that most people, minus Tera, agree with this one. Well, for my second favorite thing I am probably gonna lose a bunch of you. Anyway, here goes.....

Yes, thats right. We kinda have a tradition where my sister, my mom, and me head out as early as possible on the busiest shopping day of the year, otherwise known as Black Friday, and shop till we drop. Now, I know what some of you are thinking, but for what ever reason, I LOVE bumping elbows with bunches of christmas shoppers and all the stores decorated and playing christmas music. Did I mention the sales! I love catching all the big sales on this day. My favorite part is that my mom and sister and me get to hang out and shop. I guess its just I love christmas shopping on any day. Now, I admit I am brave, but I am not stupid and there is one place I refuse to go on Black Friday.....

The mother of all places. Only the elite shoppers dare go. I save this for you. You know who you are. The person that can go shoulder to shoulder for that Wii, will stay up all night for that iphone, and can muscle their way to the front of the line for that last tv. I don't have what it takes, but you do. So shop on dear friend, shop on, and I will see you at Dillard's when the sun comes up.

The Countdown To Christmas!

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?
Eddie: Naw, I'm doing just fine, Clark.

You surprised to see us, Clark?
Clark: Oh, Eddie... If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now.

So keep checking the blog because the countdown to Christmas is on and I am going to give you, in no particular order some of my favorite things about Christmas. I dont think this needs any explanation. Uncle Eddie and Clark and a crazy dog named Snots. How can you not love it!!!

Our First Halloween!

What a fun time for Jackson and Joey and me. We were so excited! We had a couple fun parties to go to. Thanks Jeff and Lauren and Beep and Amanda for making Halloween so fun! We love yall and Jackson had a blast! Especially playing with your puppies. As you can tell in the pictures Jackson was a polar bear. It was 80 degrees here in good ol' Texas, but before you go judging us, I have to defend this costume. It was 30 something degrees only days before, so we thought this fluffy hot costume would work. Although we had an extremely hot halloween, it was still so much fun! And seriously have you ever seen such a cute polar bear? Ok...I think I am a little bias but still, he was cute! Joey on the other hand, he went as Michael Phelps, hence the mustache in the first picture. He went in nothing but full length tights, a swim cap and goggles, and his gold medals around his neck. I will spare you the pics of that. And for all of you who caught the live show....sorry. No, he was hilarious and only Joey could have pulled it off. I have to say, it is never dull in our house! I love these crazy boys so much and am so thankful for such a fun Halloween!
