The Office

Can I get a whoop whoop!!!!!!

Ok....I just have to give a shout out to my favorite show on television. If you know me you know I LOVE this show. If you love the office go ahead and send me a comment. I love meeting other Office fanatics! This blog is dedicated to the crazy people who keep me laughing!

"I come from a long line of fighters, my maternal grandfather was the toughest guy I ever knew. World War II veteran. He killed twenty men and then spent the rest of the war in an Allied prison camp.....My father battled blood pressure and obesity all his life....different kind of fight." -Dwight Schrute

"Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh I dunno, I sing in the shower? Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me--no, don't sue me. That is opposite of the point I'm trying to make."
-Michael Scott

"Because right now, this is a job. If I advance any higher, this would be my career. And if this were my career, I'd have to throw myself in front of a train." - Jim Halpert

So Who Won?

Well, as promised I am going to tell you who won the First Annual Memorial Day Decathlon. Drum roll please....... the winners are..............................................The Fitness Gurus!!!! Yes, you heard me correctly, Joey and I took the gold! Now the best part of the win was this awesome trophy that we get to keep for the year at Casa de Kraus. Check out this hand-made beauty, which was a Darrell original. It is up for grabs next year, but for '08 it is ours!!!!!

We are very proud of our win and have had a hard time putting the trophy down. Jackson likes to sleep with it.

We eat with it....

workout with it...

do yard work with it....

drive with it.....

Joey has even...well....you get the picture.

So if you stop by don't be surprised to find the trophy on our mantel, maybe in a glass case with it's own spot light. Competitive....no not us. We will also give you the play by play if you want to know how the big win happened. I will tell you this in case you were wondering. The championship came down to the final event of high card. I had Jackson reach for a card and would you know he pulled the ace! So really he is the MVP in all this. I would like to thank Jackson for pullin' out the big win for us. I would also like to thank all the worthy competitors who really gave us a run for our money, I wanna thank our moms and dads for teaching us all the skills neccessary to compete in decathlons, and finally I would like to thank God for this beautiful award. Thank you and good night.

First Annual Memorial Day Decathlon

Joey and I headed to Highland Village, where we participated in the first annual memorial day decathalon. We had teams of two competing in ten events. We had six teams so for each event the winners got 6 points, second place got 5 points, and so on with the last place team getting 1 point. At the end we added all the points and the team with the highest points won. Ok, meet the teams:

Team 1: The Relaxers, mom and dad

Team 2: The Hairy Back Marries, Jess and Johnny (unless you are an avid Friends fan, you might not get this team name, but for those of us who love the show its stinkin' hilarious!)

Team 3: The Snakes, Dalton and Drew

Team 4: The Crazy Disney Characters, Mel and Kevin

Team 5: The Village Idiots, Darrell and Stephanie

Team 6: The Fitness Gurus, me and Joey

These were the ten events that we all participated in:
1. Football Toss
2. Free Throws
3. Shooting a Target
4. Croquet
5. Water Balloon Toss
6. Badmitten
7. Yahtzee
8. Darts
9. Putt Putt Golf
10. High Card
Everyone was tired, so instead of Bocci Ball for the final event we decided on high card. Everyone drew a card and high card got the 6 points, next highest 5 points, and so on.
Check out some of these awesome photos from the great day! What an awesome day! Thanks to all the teams participating that made it so much fun. And special thanks to mom, dad, Steph and Darrell for doing so much of the work. In case you were wondering who won, check back to the blog because that post will be coming soon! Yeah for fun, family and friends!

Our First Family Trip to the Park

Our first family trip to the park was beautiful. The weather was perfect and the breeze was amazing. We had a blanket, food, drinks, books and of course my camera to capture the moments. The park really is beautiful. It has a large playground and alot of open space to camp your stuff, which is what we did. We found a great area of grass under a tree which gave us perfect shade, and laid out our stuff. The boys both had their sunglasses which of course made for cute daddy son pics. What a beautiful, peaceful time. Can you imagine if I had forgotten something like the nipple to Jackson's bottle that would have ruined this pristine serenity? I can. I will leave out all the crazy details because the 10 minutes we were there really were magical. But, mixing a bottle in front of a 5 month old who is hungry and then not giving it to him doesn't make for a slow exit nor a peaceful ride home. As we were riding home, wondering how moments can turn so very quickly, child screaming in the back, Joey says, "Well....at least we can laugh about it." I don't recall any laughing.

My First Mother's Day

What a wonderful mother's day weekend! It started on friday night. Joey secretly got baby sitters (thanks a ton Beep and Boo) and told me to be ready by 6:30. He took me to Tyler St. Bistro and we ate an amazing dinner and then he surprised me with this gorgeous necklace! I don't have pearls so it was perfect. And now you have to hear the necklace story. Ok, the brand is called Add-a-Pearl and it is meant to add pearls on. Jackson is going to get me a pearl each mother's day until he is married and then I will wear the full pearl necklace to his wedding!!!! Ok seriously...all Joey's idea. How awesome!

Then, on mother's day, he took Jackson into his room to get him dressed and he brought him out in the shirt that my aunt and cousins made me when I was a baby! I almost cried. I just kept remembering the pictures of me in that shirt and I couldn't believe my son was wearing it. I was however a year old while it fit him at 5 months. Thanks Aunty, Ginger and Joyia for the shirt and thanks Joey for this precious memory.

My parents came up to celebrate Mother's day with us. We had such a great time as always. My dad got me doors for Mothers Day. Yes...doors. I don't have a picture but they are fabulous. They hide my new workout room. Yeah for handy papaws!

My mom got Jackson a few new toys and some videos which he loves! She got me the prettiest dress from White House Black Market which I am gonna wear to my 10 year high school reunion in september.

Joey dressed Jackson on sunday to celebrate mothers day with his family by their pool. He's such a little beach bum. We had such a great time hanging out in their backyard by the pool. Not to mention their famous food. We ate really well!

Jackson loved playing with his Gran.

He wore himself out and took a little nap with his Beasch.

Back up for some more fun with Aunt Boo.

We had a little pool side photo shoot

What a memorable mother's day! Thank you everyone for making my first one so special!
